Working with Babies and Children
Mike is passionate about being involved with the health of new families. Working with babies is his focus with his master’s dissertation topic being on the management of fussy babies. His treatments are gentle and aimed at improving your baby’s ability to grow and develop to their full potential.
Treatments involve in-office assessment and manual therapy tailored to your baby’s age and stage of development, evidence-informed home advice for you to follow and follow-up care.
“If the twig is bent…so grows the tree!”
In children, lack of movement can lead to poor core tone as well as lack of bone and muscle development just when it is the most important. Working with children allows us to make sure their potential is reached.
It is also important to know that children often don’t respond to physical issues with the regular pain response you would expect from an adult. Much of the time they respond with lack of appetite, being frustrated and sleep issues.
“Working with young families is the most gratifying experience. Watching a baby grow and develop to their full potential is amazing every time.” Mike also says that “I am very lucky to be able to do the work I do, and I keep on learning to make sure I am up to date and giving the best care that I can.”
